Fall in Chicago – Core Chicago Pilates' favorite places and things
Fall in Chicago is a highly coveted, short-lived period of time. It’s beautiful, the weather is perfect, and we’re trying to get outside before the weather makes the decision for us. This month, we wanted to share a quick article on some things to check out around the city this fall.
Coffee or a cocktail at Logan Inn
Logan Inn is a brand new cafe and cocktail bar near California and Armitage, and it has an absolutely gorgeous, welcoming interior. If you’re in Logan, stop in and get a drink and a Focaccia sandwich. We think you’ll love the space. More about the opening.
A little browsing at Vintiques & Company
If your idea of a good afternoon includes vintage shopping, add Vintiques & Company to your list. The shop opened this spring at 5432 N. Clark Street in Andersonville and brings together 15 merchants selling vintage and antique finds. We just picked up a few items ourselves. Give yourself time to browse, then make an afternoon of walking along Clark Street.
Lost Soul Found
Lost Soul Found is one of our favorite places to stop and grab a matcha while we shop. This coffee bar/retail space is full of thoughtfully curated clothes, vintage jewelry, accessories and home goods. It’s very difficult to get out of here without a new item.
A different view of the city at Open House Chicago
On October 17–18, Open House Chicago offers free access to buildings around the city, including spaces you wouldn’t usually get to explore. Pick a neighborhood you don’t know well and build a few stops around lunch. It’s a good reminder that there’s still plenty to discover, even when you’ve lived here for years. A fall afternoon at Lincoln Park Zoo
For something close to our Lincoln Park studio, Fall Fest runs Fridays through Sundays through November 1, plus Monday, October 12. There are pumpkins, seasonal treats, and activities for kids. Admission is free, with separate tickets for attractions. Fall Fest details.
Paper & Pencil
If you’re in the market for some pens, notebooks, planners, journals, school supplies, etc, make sure to stop by Paper & Pencil. In the heart of Andersonville, you’ll find a wide selection of goods at this “old school” paper shop.
A movie for the colder days
The Chicago International Film Festival runs October 14–25. When the weather turns, choose a screening and make a night of it. You might find something you wouldn’t have picked while scrolling at home. Festival information.
And if you’ve found a new neighborhood spot we should know about, tell us next time you’re in the studio. We’re always happy to add another stop to the list. One of the best parts of owning a small business in Chicago is supporting other small businesses. Thank you for choosing ours!
