Core Chicago’s Favorite Small Businesses in Lincoln Park and Lakeview
One of the best things about running a studio in Lincoln Park and Lakeview is the small businesses that surround us! Each of these are run by passionate people who care deeply about what they do and the community they serve, and we wanted to share them with you.
Here are some of our favorites.
Coffee Lab & Roasters
2823 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60657 (Lakeview) coffeelabroasters.com
If you take classes at one of our studios, there's a good chance you've already been pointed in this direction. Coffee Lab is a specialty cafe that roasts their coffee on-site, and you can see the roaster through a window in the back of the shop!
It's perfect for a post-class coffee or a quiet morning before the day starts. We can’t go a day without a coffee or matcha, and this is one of our favorite spots.
The Yoga Seed
2229 N Clybourn Ave, Chicago, IL 60614 (Lincoln Park) theyogaseed.com
The Yoga Seed is a woman-owned yoga studio in Lincoln Park that focuses on intentional movement, nervous system regulation, and meeting you where you are. Their instructors bring deep knowledge of anatomy and movement, and every class is taught with care and attention.
If you're looking for something to complement your Pilates practice, they offer a wide variety of classes like restorative, deep stretch and mobility, and functional strength yoga. The focus on breathwork and nervous system regulation aligns with the principles we teach at Core Chicago (and the LAB), so we love it!
It's a welcoming space for all levels, so if you've ever wanted to try yoga, this is the place to start.
Moon Rabbit Acupuncture
Lincoln Park Location: 1022 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60614 moonrabbitacupuncture.com
Moon Rabbit is a boutique acupuncture and wellness clinic with locations in Lincoln Park and the West Loop that specializes in traditional Chinese medicine with a whole-person approach, offering acupuncture, massage therapy, cupping, gua sha, infrared sauna, and more.
We appreciate that their practitioners look at the whole body, and create personalized treatment plans for every client. They also work with insurance providers, so it’s worth checking if it’s in network for you.
If you're dealing with chronic pain, stress, fertility support, or just want to add another layer to your wellness routine, Moon Rabbit is a beautiful place to start.
Lost Soul Found
1017 W Armitage Ave, Chicago, IL 60614 (Lincoln Park) lostsoulfound.com
Owner Suzanne D'Addario Brouder, a former fashion buyer, created a space where you're encouraged to slow down, sip on a coffee in a ceramic mug, and browse a curated mix of clothing, vintage jewelry, ceramics, and home goods.
Everything in the store comes from small, independent, and eco-conscious makers mainly from France. It's the kind of shop that makes you want to take your time.
Verzênay Chicago
2507 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60614 (Lincoln Park) verzenaychicago.com
Verzênay is a French patisserie and bakery that started at Green City Market over twelve years ago before opening their Lincoln Park storefront. Chef Arshiya brings classical French technique with creative influences from her Indian heritage and Midwestern roots, and the result is some of the most beautiful (and delicious) pastries in the city.
Three Avenues Bookshop
3009 N Southport Ave, Chicago, IL 60657 (Lakeview) threeavenuesbookshop.com
Three Avenues is a family-run independent bookstore in West Lakeview, right at the intersection of Lincoln, Wellington, and Southport (hence the name).
They host story times for kids on Saturdays, book clubs, author signings, open mic nights, and yoga classes. The staff places hand-written cards around the store with their current favorite books, and you can tell the store was created with community in mind.
Why We Love Our Neighborhood
Lincoln Park and Lakeview are full of incredible small businesses, and these are just a few of the ones that make this community so special. As a small business ourselves, we know how much it means when people choose to shop, eat, and invest locally.
If you're in the neighborhood for a class at either of our studios, we'd encourage you to check out any of these spots before or after. Grab a coffee at Coffee Lab, browse Lost Soul Found, or treat yourself to a croissant at Verzênay. Support the people who make this neighborhood what it is.
And if you're not already part of the Core Chicago community, come take a class with us. We'd love to see you.
